(One of my favorite things about working with encaustic is the relative ease with which you can modify an existing piece. Here, I was able to use the heat gun to carefully peel the top portion of the nest away in order to place the two girls behind it. Using the heat gun to re-fuse everything down with additional encaustic and a LOT of patience, as parts of the drawing have a tendency to want to 'float' on top of the encaustic and 'stick up'. Quite a bit of poking and prodding things back down as it cools. Also added a bit of blue pigmented encaustic.)
